Reflections: Mosaic, 2003
Mosaic is a real time video installation inspired by patterns found in Eastern European craftsmanship. Folk artists often use repetitive patterns to create magnificent art works that reflect on the beauty, beliefs and struggles of their every day life. Mosaic plays on the basic colors, and shapes similar to the works of the Eastern European folk artists. However, the installation reflects the viewer in real time engaging him or her in the process of creation
Installation setup: Mosaic is a triptych installation that consists of 3 laptop computers mounted on a wall. Individual computers analyze live video signal and output it as dynamic mosaic image. Each particular part of the mosaic consists of number of colors, which change accordingly to the images sent from the camera.
